CBA is crazy looking to repeat the mistakes of NAB and others in going for UK assets. There is a reason they are cheap - it is the lack of quality. Add your comment »MC, Investment Banking / M & A, Sun 21 Jun 09management have short memories at these banks - they have all burned money offshore in the past - ANZ with its Russian exposure, NAB with Homeside, WBC taking on the world in the last 80's and early 90's - do the right thing by shareholders - either keep the capital for when the loan books get worse (they will) or hand it back to shareholders.
